The brighter tomorrow project is an initiative that seeks to reduce the inequalities faced by rural communities with regard to their fundamental right to education. Although the state provides educational facilities it does not necessarily mean that the children of these localities have the resources needed to take maximum benefit of these facilities.
The Brighter Tomorrow Project is fueled by a strong group of passionate volunteers skilled in various streams of knowledge and is always on the search for more opportunities to contribute to the development of our nation through wider access to education.
In the process of achieving the long-term vision, one of the key initiatives the Brighter Tomorrow Project has undertaken is teaching less privileged students within Colombo and its suburbs. A primary focus will be given to subjects such as English and Computer as we believe they are essential skills going forward into the 21st century.
We believe that education is the most powerful weapon to wield in the age of information. It is not a privilege, but a right that is unfortunately bestowed upon very few of the many that deserve it. That’s why we at The Brighter Tomorrow Project have dedicated ourselves to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to get a quality education.
A majority of students struggle to keep up with the school curriculum or they do not receive the attention required thus creating a distaste towards the concept of education itself. To prevent this the Brighter Tomorrow Project volunteers seek to conduct programs for the necessary subjects to supplement their learning process.
Education gives us a knowledge of the world around us and changes it into something better. It develops in us a perspective of looking at life. It helps us build opinions and have points of view on things in life.
